“I have genuinely got my life back! At 53 years of age, it's very difficult to ask for help, especially when you have spent your whole adult life in professional positions helping vulnerable members of society yourself. From working as a psychiatric nurse, to a spiralling mental health lapse- falling into depression and alcoholism as a result, I never thought I'd make it out alive, never mind, alive and thriving! I am so grateful to the support I received, the signposting and the care in my recovery, from the housing officers and support workers. I genuinely wouldn't have made it without them. I am now volunteering with people in my position to help them get their lives back on track too!”
